Features

Synonym enables seamless cross-chain lending and borrowing transactions without the need for additional interfaces or external bridges. All actions are completed from a singular UI that is powered by the Wormhole cross-chain messaging stack. At launch, users will be able to complete the following actions:

• Deposit & Lend (earn yield by lending or borrowing assets)

• Borrow (at competitive cross-chain rates)

• Withdraw (enhanced by Circle CCTP-enabled USDC)

• Repay (enhanced by Circle CCTP-enabled USDC)

The remainder of our roadmap includes significant feature additions, including but not limited to:

• Security and performance improvements that mirror the development of the underlying Wormhole stack

• Tokenized debt

• Internal collateral swaps (limits impacts of liquidations)

• Unified multi-asset borrowing

• Factory isolated markets with user assigned LTVs and market parameters

• Support for intents-based architectures

Chains

Synonym will launch first on Arbitrum, Optimism and Ethereum Mainnet. We are rollup and modularity focused and will prioritize rollup ecosystems with promising DeFi activity for new chain deployments. We will announce new chain deployments via Twitter and Discord.

Assets

Our asset roadmap progresses from standard bluechip assets through to longer tail and exotic assets over time. At launch, Synonym will provide access to assets like WETH, WBTC, WSTETH, USDC and more. In our second cohort of assets we will be prioritizing LSTs from multiple partners, including Redacted. After our LST cohort is live, future asset listings will include:

• LRTs & Restaked Assets

• Cosmos Ecosystem Assets

• Wrapped DeFi strategies

• Tokenized Yield Vaults

Infrastructure

Synonym works in parallel with the Wormhole Foundation and Circle to ship support for the latest Wormhole and USDC features across our markets. Synonym was one of the first teams to build on top of Wormhole’s Automatic Relayer system and will continue to be early on cutting-edge cross-chain features. Moreover, we’re committed to the future of unified stablecoin liquidity and are prioritizing CCTP-enabled USDC everywhere in our deployments. We’ll add planned infrastructure updates here as soon as they’re available - stay tuned!
